Hey there!
I’m Imen, a specialist in digital embroidery with years of experience in the field. I’ve seen many beginners fall into the same traps, and today I’d love to share some of the most common mistakes so you can avoid them and grow faster in your journey
1. Ignoring Machine Settings
One of the most common mistakes is using default settings for every project. Each design requires specific adjustments depending on the fabric and thread type.
2. Using Low-Quality Threads
Cheap threads may seem like a good idea at first, but they can cause breakage, tangles, and messy finishes. Invest in quality threads—it really makes a difference.
3. Downloading Random Designs Online
Not every design you find online is optimized for your machine. Poorly digitized files can lead to disastrous results and wasted time.
4. Skipping Test Runs
Always test your design on scrap fabric before embroidering on your final piece. Especially with new or edited designs, a quick test can save your project.
5. Choosing the Wrong Fabric
Not all fabrics work well with embroidery. Some stretch too much or are too delicate for machine stitching. Pick the right fabric for each project.
Embroidery is such a beautiful craft, but it takes a bit of patience and lots of trial and error. With time, you’ll master the tricks that turn your work into art.
